The Product
WEAR-A-THON®
is produced using premium quality cross-linked UHMW resin and special additives, transforming it into a highly wear and abrasion resistant plastic. This manufacturing process blends the resin and additives into a homogenous material that wear hardens and has a lower rate of thermal expansion than other UHMW compounds
Glass-Like Finish Reduces
Friction & Wear
WEAR-A-THON®, with its unique wear hardening
capability, makes it ideally suited for use in sliding
applications such as chain conveyor guides. As the material wears, it polishes to a
glass-like finish, extending wear life and substantially reducing friction. In most
applications, as the top layer wears away, the material below lasts two to three
times longer. As an added benefit, this reduction in friction means drives require
less horse power. Specific Gravity 0.97 Hardness, 72 Melt Range 280º F Heat Load Stability @ 66 psi 235º F Sheet Size 48" X 120" Approx. weight 50 lbs. Thickness Range 1/8" to 6" Other additives UV Stabilization
No Buckling When
Attached To Steel
WEAR-A-THON®, with its special composition,
has superior heat dissipate properties than other
UHMW plastics. A one inch thick sheet expands and contracts similar
to A.R. steel. This, in conjunction with our special weld washer attachment method,
ensures that WEAR-A-THON®
will not buckle when attached to steel decks.
Sheet material can easily be cut, bent or machined into any shape required.
In bin and chute applications, WEAR-A-THON®
provides excellent wear resistance preventing
both sticking and bridging. Also, noise caused by material flow is substantially reduced.
And, since moisture cannot penetrate
WEAR-A-THON®
, water cannot freeze to its surface.
